26-Year-Old Resident of Surenavan Sustains Gunshot Wound, Circumstances Under Investigation: Prosecutor's Office
On May 17, 2021, at 18:45, the Ararat division of the Armenian police received a call from the Ararat Medical Center regarding a resident of Surenavan, born in 1994, who was admitted with a gunshot wound. The individual was immediately transferred to the Erebuni Medical Center.
During the examination of the crime scene, blood-like traces were found on the rear door of the "VAZ-2121" vehicle, and there was damage with copper metal remnants on the rear left wheel. A metallic object resembling a bullet core and two 7.62 mm caliber cartridges were discovered in front of the right rear wheel, with blood-like traces located a short distance from the vehicle.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Ararat division of the police under Article 112 (Deliberately causing serious harm to health) and Article 235 (Illegally acquiring, selling, storing, transporting, or carrying weapons, military equipment, explosive substances, or explosive devices) of the RA Criminal Code. The investigation is being conducted by the Vedi Investigative Division of the Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. Investigative and procedural actions are underway to clarify all circumstances of the incident.
