Armenian Army Instructed to Position and Prepare for Surprise Attack

According to the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd', the developments around Lake Sevan over the past week have brought the region close to a new war. Information received indicates that following the Azerbaijani incursion into Armenian territory, the Armenian army has been instructed to position its best units and be prepared to repel enemy forces with a surprise attack.

It is highly likely that Azerbaijan did not anticipate that our forces could gather and position themselves on nearby heights so quickly, creating a real opportunity to encircle their units.

Notably, former high-ranking military officials close to the General Staff have informed us that the government has instructed to retrieve various maps from archives and, based on them, to plan advances from Tavush and Nakhichevan, citing the same justifications as the Azerbaijanis.

Additionally, we are receiving information that the actions of the Azerbaijanis have greatly angered Russia, which has essentially indicated that in the event of renewed hostilities, it will not allow foreign troops and weapons to appear under its nose, as happened during the 44-day war.

Ultimately, this time the credibility of the CSTO and Russia is also at stake, as the resolution of this issue affects not only Russia's reputation but that of the CSTO as well. This is the first time in the history of this organization that a member state has made such a request for assistance. Moreover, the Azerbaijanis understand that without the aid of Turkish, Pakistani, and other foreign military experts and equipment, they are likely to lose territory again in a new war.
