VIDEO: Weapons and Ammunition Left Under Khariahunj Sign and Reported to Police
As part of the "Armory-2021" comprehensive preventive measure, officers from the Syunik regional division of the police continue their active explanatory work.
The police reported that a man who called the Goris division stated that after the second Artsakh war, he had brought weapons and ammunition, which he left under the sign of the Khariahunj community.
In that area, police discovered an AK-47 assault rifle and magazines loaded with 270 bullets. As a result of the explanatory work by officers of the Goris Protection Department, a resident of Goris handed over three grenades of the DSHK-7 type—along with a charger and a bag, as well as grenades and over 150 bullets of various firearms and calibers, which he claimed were brought from Artsakh.
A voluntary surrender of an AK-47 was also recorded in the Meghri division. The man who brought the firearm to the police also surrendered a grenade, a grenade detonator, and 45 rounds for the rifle.
The explanatory efforts of the police in Kapan were also effective. One of the residents voluntarily handed over a carbine, a fragmentation grenade, a grenade detonator, and over 90 rounds for the rifle. Expert examinations have been appointed.
We urge individuals to voluntarily surrender illegal weapons and ammunition to the police to avoid criminal liability.
