We Must Act Quickly, Otherwise New Losses Are Inevitable: Tigran Abrahamyan

The Azerbaijani aggression towards the regions of Syunik and Gegharkunik, as well as statements from Armenian authorities regarding the need to prepare for worse scenarios of situation development, indicate that measures should be implemented that correspond to the existing situation. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, head of the Analytical Center "Henaket", on his Facebook page.

"In particular, several areas of the Syunik region are located in close proximity to Azerbaijani positions, which creates constant threats in that direction. A part of the Goris-Vorotan highway is completely under Azerbaijani control, and Azerbaijani outposts are deployed near the Vorotan-Davit Bek villages. In many cases, these outposts are situated just 50-100 meters from the main highway. I have not yet mentioned the village of Shurnukh, which is literally divided into two parts: Armenian and Azerbaijani. We have similar issues in the vicinity of the city of Kapan, near the airport, as well as on the Kapan-Jakaten road.

In the event of a worsening situation in places like Ishkhanasar, Kuti, or Verin Shorja, serious developments can occur in those sections of the border with Armenia, where Azerbaijan has gained advantages. There are new threats to implement serious measures in the aforementioned areas, to strengthen the security of the border, and to ensure the protection of our citizens traveling by the motorway and those living nearby. We must act quickly, otherwise new losses are inevitable," wrote Tigran Abrahamyan.
