Many Mysteries Surrounding Syunik: How Did Armenia Address the CSTO? Ashotyan on the Situation at the Armenian Border

Many mysteries surround Syunik: how did Armenia address the CSTO? The next day it became clear that no request had been made to the CSTO. If the situation is critical, why did you prepare the documents the next day?

This was stated today by the Deputy Chairman of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, Armen Ashotyan, in a conversation with reporters regarding the situation in Syunik.

“If the situation is tense, then why didn’t you work through the night and submit the documents on time? What does it mean that we didn’t request assistance from Russia, yet later it is said that we did? The Azerbaijanis consider that Megrin is already theirs, since this scoundrel gives them whatever they want,” said Ashotyan.

It should be noted that today, a signing ceremony is taking place regarding the memorandum on the formation of the “Honorary Have” coalition, which includes the “Republican Party of Armenia” and the “Fatherland” parties.

The Deputy Chairman of the Republican Party also referred to the snap elections and noted that the Republican Party was the first among political parties to express an official position regarding the developments, stating that these elections should not take place, as this solution has been imposed.

“Our domestic political agenda did not suggest such a solution, and the Republican Party was opposed until the end. By our decision to participate in the elections, we have confirmed that, unfortunately, we have followed the developments in the political field that we could not prevent. We have been trying in every way to prevent these elections, as it was clear at that time that Armenia was not ready to go to elections, given numerous challenges, including security threats,” mentioned Ashotyan.

Ashotyan emphasized that he cannot go to snap elections under the governance of capitulating authorities, which deepen the existing crisis in the country. He also pointed out that he does not exclude the possibility of canceling the snap elections.

“Unfortunately, all our forecasts are becoming a reality, and it has turned out that, sadly, society is becoming convinced of the truth of our words only when misfortune knocks on our door. I do not rule out that the elections may be canceled, as this was a false agenda that has been imposed,” said Armen Ashotyan.
