Azerbaijanis Continue to Send Videos of Attacks on Albert
“When Albert was small, we used to visit Yerablur and Tsitsernakaberd, and he always asked questions about the heroes, about the memorial. I always explained to him that these are the people for whom we live today at the cost of our lives,” recounts Artak Hovhannisyan, the father of Albert Hovhannisyan, who fell during the Artsakh war.
He was conscripted into the army on January 13, 2020, serving as the commander of an artillery calculation and a junior sergeant. According to his father, he knew that it was his duty and that everyone should fulfill their obligation.
“He used to tell me, ‘Dad, do you believe me? It’s as if I’m in our yard, just that you’re not with me.’ I never heard him complain,” notes the father.
Artak Hovhannisyan shares that Albert was very skilled with his weapon. “I understood that there was war, that one cannot be happy when Albert was shown on television, there was just pride, but unfortunately it was very short-lived,” says the father.
He recounts that according to friends, they did not sleep at all for several days. Albert always slept next to his artillery piece, being a true commander and a true soldier. “He always thought that with his fire, he would break the course of the war, that the more and faster they fired, the sooner the war would stop,” the father emphasizes.
Albert Hovhannisyan was born on September 15, 2001, and he was killed in battles for the defense of the homeland on October 8, 2020.
