Armenian Foreign Ministry Responds to Controversial Terms Used by US State Department
We acknowledge our international partners' responses regarding the developments occurring in the border areas of Armenia. In response to Tert.am's inquiry about the US State Department's use of the terms "disputed territories" and "demarcation issues" in their statement regarding the encroachment of Azerbaijani armed forces in Syunik and Gegharkunik regions, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan commented.
"We acknowledge our international partners' responses regarding the developments occurring in the border areas of Armenia and emphasize the importance of withdrawing Azerbaijani armed forces as per their demands," she stated.
It is worth recalling that during a recent press briefing, US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Jalina Porter said, "We are closely monitoring the situation along the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Movements of troops in disputed areas are irresponsible and baseless provocative actions." Jalina Porter also stated that the US authorities consider Azerbaijan's actions near the border with Armenia as provocative.
