"A Security Zone is Necessary. I Appeal to Our Powerful Diaspora Organizations and Individuals": Arman Tatoyan
A security zone is necessary for the protection of the rights of residents living near the borders of Armenia and for all citizens of our country. This was stated by Armenia's Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan on his Facebook page.
“I propose that all governmental bodies, members of parliament involved in international delegations, competent civil-political organizations and experts support the Human Rights Defender of Armenia in advancing the concept of establishing a security zone around the entire border sections of Syunik and Gegharkunik with Azerbaijan. I also appeal to our powerful Diaspora organizations and individuals for this purpose: we will present necessary evidence and justifications for this goal,” he wrote.
“The security zone is necessary for the protection of the rights of border residents and all citizens of our country. There should be no Azerbaijani soldiers, flags, or signs on the roads between the communities of Syunik, near the villages of Syunik and Gegharkunik. We must fight together with united efforts and concrete actions against the dire challenges we face and defend our rights and the security of our country,” he concluded.
