Pashinyan on the Clarification of Border Points
Pashinyan, speaking at a parliamentary session today regarding the clarification of certain border points, stated: "Demarcation and delimitation occur under the condition that there are diplomatic relations between the countries. However, considering the current situation, we are certainly ready for the process of clarifying certain border points, as I have communicated to our Russian partners. We find ourselves in a situation where it is necessary to observe on the ground where our border runs and what points exist, as well as who could occupy what points.
Our understanding is that border protection will be carried out by border troops from both sides, and military units will be relocated to permanent deployment areas." According to Pashinyan, the Armenian side is essentially prepared for such a solution: "This means that there will be a certain understanding regarding the border or border points, and only border troops will be present from both sides," he said, noting that this would imply a completely different military-political situation.
The acting Prime Minister assured that mechanisms have been activated that provide confidence that it would be possible to protect Armenia's territorial integrity and sovereignty through this path.
