New Details on Gunfire from 'Coffins' Street: Doctors Remove Bullet from Injured Man's Neck

On May 13, a shooting incident took place on Nar-Dosi Street, resulting in the initiation of a criminal case under Article 34-104 (attempted murder) and part 1 of Article 235 (illegal carrying, possession, or use of weapons) of the RA Criminal Code, according to shamshyan.com. The victim, 24-year-old Vahing Bazeyan, a resident of Kajaznuni Street in Yerevan, was transported to the number 1 university hospital with a diagnosis of a "punctured neck wound" and critical condition.

Doctors at the hospital have managed to save his life, although he remains in the intensive care unit under medical supervision. According to sources, Yerevan resident Narek Samsonyan, 34, is being sought on suspicion of murder. He was reportedly present around 6:10 PM on May 13 near the Nar-Dosi Street address 39/a, where, after getting out of his Toyota Camry, he allegedly struck and shattered the rear window of N. Samsonyan's vehicle with his hand. Following this, he shot at V. Bazeyan with an unidentified type of firearm from inside his vehicle, resulting in Bazeyan’s severe injury.

Thanks to the professional actions of the doctors at the number 1 university hospital, a bullet was successfully removed from the injured man's neck during surgery. The police and investigative department are conducting necessary operational and investigative actions to locate N. Samsonyan and the pistol used in the incident.

Earlier, it was reported that shots were fired in Yerevan on May 13. Around 6:40 PM, a call was received by the central police department indicating gunfire on Nar-Dosi, also known to the public as 'Coffins' street. One person was transferred to the number 1 university hospital with a gunshot wound. Police and investigators discovered blood-like traces and a fired cartridge at the scene.

Several citizens gathered at the scene declined to speak on camera but stated, "We only heard the sound of gunfire; it’s good that the police arrived quickly and took away some car. They will certainly catch the shooter, and the victim is well-known in the neighborhood as Baksyor Vagho, who also does car washing since he owns a car wash center."
