CSTO to Hold Consultations on Armenian-Azerbaijani Border Situation

Armenia has informed the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) secretariat about the situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border through an official letter sent to the CSTO Collective Security Council Chairman, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan. In the coming days, consultations will be held regarding the situation in the Syunik province, CSTO press secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov stated on Friday.

"The Armenian side has informed the CSTO secretariat via a message directed to the CSTO Collective Security Council Chairman - President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan. Currently, the issue of organizing the consultations is being developed. We expect that the consultations will take place in the coming days," he said.

Zainetdinov also noted that the CSTO Secretary-General has conducted several negotiations with representatives of Armenia and Tajikistan throughout the day. "Today, CSTO Secretary-General Stanislav Zas discussed the situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border by phone with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ara Ayvazyan and Tajik Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirodjidin Muhriddin," the CSTO press secretary said.
