Are They Cutting Zangezur Off from Armenia? Says Andranik Kocharyan

The Minister of Defense is currently engaged in the issues he is obligated to address today, until we see where the solution to the problem can be found. This was stated today by Andranik Kocharyan, a member of the 'My Step' faction, in response to a question from Naira Zohrabyan during an extraordinary session of the National Assembly.

Kocharyan also noted that the solution to all these problems lies in Zangezur. "Zangezur has already been torn apart for months; we have turned it into a stage for resolving political issues. Almost all leaders of the executive power in Zangezur have become road blockers. Are you not getting the impression that Zangezur is being cut off from the Republic of Armenia? The opponent could also want to cut something on his own," said Andranik Kocharyan.

According to him, the key to solving these problems will be found during the negotiations. "Here, we cannot underestimate the role of Russia. It has a significant presence in this process. And there will also be solutions found that may not violate the ceasefire regime. Let's do everything to avoid violating that regime. Our prospects in Zangezur depend on that regime," Kocharyan added.

He emphasized that there should be extraordinary governance in Syunik, which implies that power and civil bodies need to engage in a unified administration so that decisions can be made swiftly.
