A Tree Falls at Yerevan State University, Damaging Parked Cars

On May 13, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 2:25 PM, in the Kentron administrative district on Alek Manoukian Street, a huge tree was uprooted and fell on parked cars, including a BMW X3, Nissan X Trail, and Opel, in the yard of Yerevan State University. This was reported by Shamshyan.com.

According to preliminary information, fortunately, there were no injuries. The falling tree rendered the Opel completely inoperable, while the other vehicles also sustained damage. It remains unclear who will compensate the citizens for the damages.

In a conversation with a journalist, employees of the university and Levon Shant’s secondary school No. 4 nearby said: “There are many such trees in this area. We have repeatedly requested, both in writing and verbally, that the issue of these trees be addressed, but we have not received any positive response. It is a lucky coincidence that we did not have any human losses due to the tree falling today. However, if the problem with the other dangerous trees is not resolved, there is no guarantee that citizens will not be harmed by falling trees in the future.”
