Search Conducted at Aygeshat Village Mayor's Home, Drugs Discovered

On May 10, a search was conducted at the home of 57-year-old Robert Hovsepyan, the mayor of Aygeshat village, based on a request by senior investigator Vahe Samsonyan from the Armenian Investigative Committee's Ararat Regional Investigative Department. This search was part of a criminal case initiated on suspicion of murder.

According to reports from shamshyan.com, the court granted the investigator's request after holding a closed session and returning from the deliberation room. The search was carried out in collaboration with officers from the main department of criminal police of the RA Police, the Ararat Regional Police Department, and the Vagharshapat Police Station, under the leadership of the investigator.

During the search at Hovsepyan's home, a package containing a greenish dried and crushed substance resembling marijuana was discovered in the desk drawer of the office used for work. Additionally, a crushed substance weighing 0.97 grams, resembling drugs, was found inside an electric stove in the kitchen.

Moreover, a used medical dropper with traces of drug use was found on the window sill of the backyard, and cannabis-like seeds were discovered inside an iron rope at the house. Sixteen cannabis-like plants of various sizes were found in the adjacent yard, one of which was placed in a flower pot.

As per reports, Robert Hovsepyan has declined to make any statements regarding the discoveries. The investigator has seized the findings, and a forensic chemical examination has been appointed.

According to information from photojournalists, the search is related to the murder case of Arthur Asatryan, known as “Don Pippo,” who is considered a criminal authority and was serving as a bodyguard.
