Intense Clashes Occur in Israel, Says Harut Paghamean

Intense clashes are currently taking place in Israel between Jews and Palestinians. The main conflict zone is in cities located near the Gaza area. Since yesterday, Jerusalem has also come under rocket fire.

This was reported in a conversation with ArmDaily.am by Harut Paghamean, a representative of the Armenian Committee for the Defense of Human Rights in Jerusalem. He noted that an unprecedented number of rockets have been fired towards Israel, but tensions escalated further when Israelis entered one of the most important mosques for Muslims, using gas and weapons inside.

Paghamean is confident that Israel's response to this rocket fire will be very strong, and actions will most likely begin tonight.

Regarding the Armenian quarter in Jerusalem, it has not been damaged by the rocket fire, and there are no Armenians among the injured. Paghamean mentioned that there are two cities located near the Gaza area where Armenians live, but they are not in danger either.

Paghamean stated that Palestinians have not attempted to target the Armenian quarter, and in this regard, Armenians do not have any concerns, even though the center of the clashes is just one kilometer away from the Armenian quarter in Jerusalem. He believes that these clashes will escalate further.
