What Punishment Awaits the Young Man Who Opened Fire in a Kazan School

A 19-year-old man who opened fire in one of the schools in Kazan is facing life imprisonment. This was reported by RIA-Novosti. The second part of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, under which the criminal case has been initiated, also prescribes the death penalty; however, there is a moratorium on the death penalty in Russia.

It is recalled that a former student of one of the Kazan schools opened fire indiscriminately today, resulting in at least 9 fatalities and dozens of injuries. Among the victims, seven are children.

The perpetrator has been arrested at the scene. He had a permit to carry a weapon.
