Police Unveils Illegal Casino
The Police of the Republic of Armenia has announced the unveiling of an illegal casino. According to the message disseminated by the police:
“Based on information received by the Department for Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes of the Criminal Police, operational-investigative measures were undertaken that revealed factual data indicating that a man had organized live poker games without state registration and without a special permit or license in one of the houses on K’erru Street in Yerevan from February to May 4 of this year. He received bets using chips equivalent to 100, 200, 500, 1000, 5000, and 25000 drams and collected fees from each player's winnings, generating daily profits of around 200,000 drams while failing to pay the established state duty for his activities, resulting in a substantial damage to the state's legal interests amounting to approximately 5 billion 500 million drams.
Police officers discovered various gaming items in the area, which have been confiscated. Additionally, a substance resembling marijuana was found. Expert examinations have been appointed.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, which has been sent to the Investigative Department of the State Revenue Committee.
