A Submachine Gun Found in Bagrevand, Allegedly Used by a Criminal Associate to Kill Two People
On May 10, officers from the criminal investigation department of the Nor Nork Police Division conducted extensive operational activities. Following the implementation of received operational data, they took operational-investigative measures, which led to the discovery of an ‘AKM’ type submachine gun and an empty magazine in a grassy area across from 20 Bagrevand Street, reports shamshyan.com.
According to the source, there are suspicions that the aforementioned submachine gun was used by a wanted resident of Yerevan's Moldova Street, 31-year-old Robert Andranikyan, to shoot and kill 37-year-old Hovhannes Mkrtchyan, a citizen of Austria, and to inflict gunshot wounds on his brother, 39-year-old Karen Mkrtchyan, also an Austrian citizen.
Earlier, the identity of the alleged suspect had been established in connection with the commission of the said crime. He is 31-year-old Robert A., a resident of one of the buildings near the crime scene, who had an argument with the Mkrtchyan brothers during which he opened fire on them with his firearm. According to the source, Robert A. is a protégé of one of the notorious criminal figures in Masiv, while the ‘Mercedes’ found at the crime scene was a rental vehicle taken by the brothers from a car rental agency.
