Identities of Tree Cutters in Yerevan Revealed; One Assaulted Woman Who Reported to Police
On the night of May 7, a citizen called 911 to report that trees were being cut down near a supermarket on Margaryan Street. The police stated that officers from the Mashtots police station arrived at the specified address and found that unidentified individuals had illegally felled four poplars in a green area. When a local resident chastised the tree cutters, one of them approached her and struck her on the hand, causing bodily injury and damaging her mobile phone.
Thanks to the efforts of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Mashtots police station, it was determined that two residents, aged 26 and 34, illegally cut down four poplars with an electric saw at the specified location for the purpose of installing a wagon-shed. The 34-year-old man was responsible for hitting the woman who made the complaint and damaging her phone. Investigations are underway.
