Haypost Clarifies Employee Layoff Rumors

Reports circulating about layoffs at Haypost are not true. On the contrary, the company is currently expanding its team. This was stated in a press release by Haypost.

“Due to the public demand for improving the quality of services provided by Haypost, the company regularly conducts knowledge assessments to evaluate employee competencies in relation to their positions and responsibilities through testing. The data regarding employees who have not met satisfactory results and are under termination have not yet been compiled by the company, therefore the various figures regarding employee layoffs from different sources bear no relation to reality. Moreover, we announce that the next round of knowledge assessments will last until the end of the current year.

It is also noted that vacant positions in the company are constantly filled based on general principles through competitive announcement of the job vacancies. Job vacancy announcements are published on the Haypost website, social media, and other platforms.

We emphasize that Haypost is a commercial organization that operates according to corporate governance principles, and the company's decisions are made by management bodies formed in accordance with the law. Haypost CJSC is the national postal operator of the Republic of Armenia and one of the largest employers in the country, with more than 850 postal offices and over 3000 employees.

We also inform that the questionnaires designed for employee knowledge assessments include only those questions that allow assessing the level of the employee's professional skills. The knowledge assessment process includes the following phases:

  • All employees are informed in writing about the internal regulations related to their job responsibilities,
  • Employees undergo a training process regularly and on all topics organized by the company, either in a suitable training center or remotely,
  • The training processes are followed by the knowledge assessment process, during which employees are informed in advance about the date, location, and time of the knowledge assessment, and they are provided with relevant topics and materials,
  • The knowledge assessment process is recorded and audio-visual materials are created,
  • According to the results of the knowledge assessment, employees scoring 70-79 percent are given the opportunity to participate in the second phase, while issues regarding employees who score below 70 percent are discussed and resolved in accordance with the Labor Code of the Republic of Armenia. In cases where an employee scores below 70 percent, they may not be able to properly fulfill their job responsibilities and serve customers.

We would like to once again stress that non-professional questions and those unrelated to the employee's functions are not included in the tests. Each questionnaire prepared for the successive assessment includes questions based on relevant procedures operating within the company aimed at improving the services provided by the company and the quality of services.
