Criminal Cases Opened for Use of Banned Weapons by Azerbaijan
Independent MP Sergey Bagratyan inquired in parliament whether criminal cases have been opened regarding the use of banned weapons by Azerbaijan during the war that began on September 27, 2020.
Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan responded that criminal cases have indeed been initiated, and constant monitoring of social networks has been conducted during military operations, alongside permanent communication with military sources.
“Our task has been to ensure that no information regarding possible war crimes during those days goes unaddressed. We have placed great importance on this. Currently, work is underway to secure the necessary evidential basis, including the identification of specific perpetrators. All cases have received a legal response,” stated the Prosecutor General.
Arthur Davtyan added that the involvement of accused individuals is an ongoing process: “However, for understandable reasons, we cannot publicly discuss these matters at this time,” said the prosecutor.
