City Hall Wall in Sisian Dug to Measure Cement Thickness, Asphalt Measured in Millimeters in Goris: "Hraparak"
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "Law enforcement has focused their scrutiny on all relatively well-known individuals who are not aligned with the authorities. Thousands of criminal cases have been opened against individuals holding positions and businesses in the regions. Mass inspections are being conducted in community administrations.
The State Revenue Committee has especially become an instrument of political persecution, and for the past two months, it has been conducting inspections in Syunik's communities. They have not yet entered Kajaran due to a shortage of employees. Inspections have been carried out in the community administrations of Goris, Sisian, and Meghri, extremely meticulously. For instance, in Sisian, they dug into the wall of the city hall to measure the thickness of the cement, while in Goris, the length and width of the asphalt have been measured to the millimeter.
However, to their disappointment, they discovered that in Goris, more than the 2 million dram allocated had been spent, as the mayor used personal funds for community needs. Earlier, inspections were carried out in the Spitak community administration, where very few violations were recorded in the act presented to the mayor, yet the Anti-Corruption Committee has launched a criminal case based on the inspection results. It is possible that the mayors of Syunik will face a similar fate."
