Armenian Wrestlers Return from Russia with 5 Medals

The Armenian Greco-Roman wrestling youth team participated in the Surakat Asiyatilov International Memorial Tournament held in Kaspiysk, Russia, on May 4-5. According to the press service of the Armenian Wrestling Federation, during the two-day competition, Samvel Grigoryan became the champion in the 77 kg weight category, while Garnik Hovhannisyan won the silver medal in the 55 kg category.

Bronze medalists included Shant Khachatryan in the 67 kg category, Karen Khachatryan in the 82 kg category, and Vigen Nazaryan in the 87 kg category. In an interview with the HWF, Armen Babalaryan, the senior coach of the Armenian youth Greco-Roman wrestling team, emphasized that all the wrestlers had the potential to win medals. Considering the prolonged break due to the coronavirus, the coach expressed satisfaction with everyone's performances.
