3 Million 523 Thousand Euros Investment for Community Infrastructure
The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia continues to implement the Community Infrastructure Program (CIP Phase 2, Part 3), under which extensive works have started in the communities of Vanadzor and Lernapat in the Lori Province.
In Vanadzor, the plan includes the installation of 13.93 km of water supply pipeline, the construction of three water intake facilities, the reconstruction of daily regulation reservoirs and a pumping station, the construction of a distribution network spanning 22.87 kilometers, and the installation of household connections for water lines extending 9.79 kilometers. A total of 1,127 water metering wells are involved in this project. After its successful completion, drinking water will be supplied around the clock to more than 4,500 residents in the Bazum and Dimats neighborhoods and adjacent areas of Vanadzor.
The total investment for this phase will amount to 3 million 348 thousand euros.
In Lernapat, activities will include the reconstruction of a daily regulation reservoir, refurbishment of a distribution network stretching 6.8 kilometers, with the length of new inlet pipes measuring 1.5 kilometers. There will be 151 water metering wells for individual household connections. Following the project's successful end, drinking water will be available around the clock to over 600 residents of the Lernapat community. The investment for the implementation of these works is set at 175 thousand 264 euros.
In total, the planned investment for the aforementioned activities in Vanadzor and Lernapat amounts to 3 million 523 thousand euros, funded by the Government of Armenia, the German Reconstruction Credit Institute (KFW), and the European Union (Neighborhood Investment Facility).
Shortly, works will also begin in additional communities of Lori Province, including Amrak, Antaramut, Dzoragyugh, Gugark, Hovhannis, Vardablur, Kurtan, and Vahagni, as part of the same program. In this phase, the total investment is expected to reach 6 million 963 thousand euros.
The Community Infrastructure Program is coordinated by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, with the participation of the Water Committee of the Ministry.
