Earthquake 14 km Northwest of Elpin Village
On May 5, at 09:56 local time (05:56 GMT), a 2.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded by the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia. The earthquake's epicenter was located at geographical coordinates of 39.89° N latitude and 44.98° E longitude, 14 kilometers northwest of Elpin Village, with a depth of 10 kilometers.
The intensity of the underground tremor in the epicentral area was measured at 3 points. Residents in the Aragatsotn Region, particularly in the villages of Zangakatun, Tigranashen, and Paruyr Sevak, felt the earthquake with an intensity of 2-3 points.
