Draft Law on Amnesty for Those Avoiding Military Service Approved in First Reading
The National Assembly approved in the first reading the draft law presented by the government, which proposes to declare an amnesty for male citizens who have avoided military service and are suspected, accused, or convicted of committing a crime under part 1 of Article 327.
The amnesty is intended for those who have avoided mandatory military or alternative service if they reached the age of 27 by September 26, 2020, as well as those who have evaded military exercises and mobilizations, and men who are only suspected, accused, or convicted of committing a crime under part 1 of Article 327 of the RA Criminal Code.
The amnesty will not apply to those who have avoided mobilization declared on September 27, 2020, or to those who have evaded military exercises.
