Conscription Soldier Killed

On May 4, around 8:00 PM, a conscription soldier, Private Artem Hovik Melkonyan (born in 2002, drafted in 2020, Ministry of Defense Military Unit of Gegharkunik), sustained a fatal gunshot wound due to a violation of weapon use rules by a colleague during a shift change at a combat position in one of the military units located in the southern direction. An investigation is underway.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia shares the heavy sorrow of this loss and offers condolences to the family members, relatives, and comrades of the deceased soldier.
