Before the War, Onik Gasparyan Presented What Should Be Done, There Were Big Plans: Edmon Marukyan
Edmon Marukyan stated in a conversation with journalists that the shortcomings experienced during the April War have not been resolved by the state. He emphasized that when discussing the army and war, it must be understood that the army is not alone in warfare; the entire state management system must be prepared for wars.
Marukyan noted that after the April events, neither before nor after the revolution did the state prepare adequately. He mentioned that there had been significant plans regarding Onik Gasparyan, and it was outlined what needed to be done. However, after his appointment, the 44-day war began, and it was not possible to correct and prepare the state for war within a month. Therefore, everything should have been done diplomatically to prevent the war from starting.
According to the parliament member, for years the domestic propaganda in Armenia has portrayed the enemy as a group of idiots, incomprehensible, incompetent, lazy, corrupt individuals who are incapable of anything. Marukyan remarked that we have been kept in a state of delusion.
