VIDEO: Metro Bridge Collapses in Mexico City While Train Passes

On the evening of May 3, a metro bridge collapsed near the Olivos station in Mexico City as a train was passing over it, according to El Universal.

Preliminary data from the city administration reports that 20 people have died and around 70 have been injured.

The collapse occurred after a vehicle crashed into one of the supports of the metro bridge. The train derailed, leaving passengers trapped in several dangling cars.

Firefighters, rescuers, police, and medical personnel are currently on site, and hospitals are prepared to receive the injured. Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum reported on Twitter that she is heading to the disaster area.
