Resignation from the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces
The President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, has signed a decree relieving Karen Abrahamyan from the position of Head of the Operational Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.
"Based on the Prime Minister's proposal, in accordance with part 1 of Article 133 of the Constitution, as well as part 1 of point 1 of Article 40 of the Law on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen, I relieve Karen Abrahamyan from the position of Head of the Operational Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces," the decree states.
It is noteworthy that Karen Abrahamyan had been appointed to this position on June 12, 2020.
