The Government Appoints Gor Vardanyan as Rector of the Polytechnic
The government of Armenia has today confirmed the results of the election for the rector of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia. This information was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.
In accordance with the requirements of Article 15, Part 4 of the Law on Higher and Postgraduate Professional Education, the government has approved the election results of Gor Patvakan Vardanyan as the rector of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia, as stated in the announcement.
It is worth mentioning that university rectors are elected for a term of five years. Additionally, Gor Vardanyan was elected rector of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia on March 15, with a vote tally of 17 in favor, 5 against, and 1 invalid ballot. There are rumors circulating that Vardanyan's election does not sit well with the ruling party. He is a protégé of the Republican Party of Armenia's vice-chairman, Armen Ashotyan.
