A Method to Eliminate the Coronavirus in 1 Second Discovered

A group of researchers from Texas A&M University has developed a device that can instantaneously eliminate the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. The scientists' findings were published in a press release on Phys.org.

The device consists of a section of stainless steel tubing through which a coronavirus solution is passed. When the device is heated to 72 degrees Celsius, the virus titer in the solution decreases by 100,000 times in just half a second. This is sufficient to neutralize the pathogen.

According to the researchers, thermal treatment will allow this method to be used in existing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Throughout the pandemic, more than 3.1 million people have died worldwide due to infections.
