Shengavit District Head Provides Details on Nighttime Incident

The head of the Shengavit administrative district, Razmik Mkrtchyan, has made a post on his Facebook page regarding the armed incident that took place last night in Yerevan. He specifically stated:

“According to Shamshyan.com, a criminal incident occurred yesterday near the Yerevan City (‘Tokhmakh’) cemetery, resulting in injuries to several individuals, one of whom I transported to the hospital along with the head of the Malatia-Sebastia district, Davit Karapetyan. To avoid misunderstandings, I want to clarify what happened:

Last night, after a work meeting, I was returning with Davit Karapetyan from Nor Nork in his car. A man on Davit Bek street stopped us, who, judging by his appearance, didn’t seem to be well and was in need of assistance. The citizen said he had been injured and asked us to save his life. Naturally, we quickly transported him to the nearest hospital. I hope the citizen's life is not in danger and that his health, as well as that of the other injured individuals according to the press, will recover soon.

I urge everyone not to transfer civil duty and natural kindness into assumptions, let alone exploitation.

On May 1st, there was a martial arts-like incident in Yerevan. At around 00:20, the Erbun medical center reported to the police in the Erebuni district that three citizens with gunshot wounds had been transported to them, with one more being stabbed.

The police and investigators quickly identified the injured individuals. They are Yerevan residents: 34-year-old Gagik Khachatryan, 35-year-old Hrachya Boyajyan, 27-year-old Hamlet Vanoyan, and 30-year-old Arman Hovhannisyan.

According to Shamshyan.com, those who transported the injured individuals to the hospital included Razmik Mkrtchyan, the head of the Shengavit district, and Davit Karapetyan, the head of the Malatia-Sebastia district.
