Details of the Shootings and Stabbing in Yerevan Released, Names of the Injured and Community Leaders Identified
New details have emerged regarding the nighttime altercation that took place in Yerevan. The names of the injured individuals and community leaders are now known.
It is reported that on May 1, reminiscent of an action movie, a "razborka" occurred in Yerevan. Around 00:20, the Erebuni Medical Center informed the Erebuni police department that three citizens had been brought in with gunshot wounds and one person had been stabbed.
According to Shamshyan.com, doctors at the hospital told police and investigators that the injured could not provide explanations about the incident. While doctors at the Erebuni hospital fought to save the lives of the injured, which they managed to do, police determined that the individuals were injured at the Tokmakh Cemetery.
For over an hour and a half, police and investigators searched the entire cemetery area in several groups to locate the scene of the incident. They managed to discover an area that resembled a scene from an action film, where they found blood-like traces, an automatic weapon, a pistol, and fired cartridges.
Through hot leads, police and investigators identified the injured individuals as residents of Yerevan: 34-year-old Gagik Khachatryan, 35-year-old Hrachya Boyajyan, 27-year-old Hamlet Vanoian, and 30-year-old Arman Hovhannisyan. During the examination of the crime scene, investigators seized the discovered automatic weapon, pistol, and fired cartridges, as well as other evidence.
A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 235, 112, and 34-104 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
The police and investigative department are conducting necessary operational and investigative actions to clarify the circumstances of the incident and to solve the crime.
Sources indicate that among those who transported the injured to the hospital were Razmik Mkrtchyan, the head of the Shengavit administrative district, and Davit Karapetyan, the head of the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district.
