Pashinyan Visits Kazan's Innopolis Innovative City

Nikol Pashinyan, during his working visit to Russia, today visited Kazan's Innopolis innovative city. It is the first Russian city designed specifically for IT professionals. This information was reported by the Prime Minister's office.

Pashinyan toured the innovative city and became acquainted with the activities of the technopark and the technological environment. Mayor Ruslan Shigaleev and the technopark's CEO Renat Khalimov presented the goals and objectives of Innopolis, current and development programs, and the model of public-private collaboration for the city’s development.

Founded in 2015, the city occupies an area of 1,200 hectares and currently has a population of 3,800. The foundation of its infrastructure, economy, education, and services is based on information technology and robotics. There is a Special Economic Zone with tax benefits, which makes the city attractive for IT companies and startups. Currently, over 360 companies are registered there.

Comprehensive infrastructure for service provision has been established, including residential complexes, kindergartens, schools, medical and sports centers, as well as postal and banking facilities.

Pashinyan learned about the projects of several IT companies operating in the city and the conditions of their activities, and he received proposals for developing cooperation with Armenia from some technological enterprises.

He also visited the Innopolis University, where he was briefed on educational and research programs aimed at training specialists for the technology sector, which are fully funded by the state.

Pashinyan found the technological environment created in Innopolis interesting, noting that the IT sector in Armenia is dynamically developing, and the government is interested in continuously improving the working conditions of companies in the sector. In this context, he emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences with Innopolis as a successful example of implementing innovative technologies.
