Easier and Quicker Travel from Yerevan to Tbilisi Possible
Armenia and Georgia are discussing a project that could reduce the travel time between Yerevan and Tbilisi by train. The information was shared with Sputnik Armenia by Arman Khojoyan, the Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia.
"The Ministry of Economy has initiated several large-scale projects that could be realized in the near future. They are currently in the design phase, but we have already discussed them with our Georgian counterparts," said Khojoyan.
He noted that the Georgian side is also interested in the joint implementation of these programs. One of these projects aims to increase the speed of the Yerevan-Tbilisi train, which will naturally provide a greater economic effect for both countries.
No further details were shared by Khojoyan, who only mentioned that concrete steps have not yet been taken in this direction.
As a reminder, travelers can currently reach Georgia from Armenia via road, rail, and air routes, including the border checkpoints of "Bagratashen-Sadakhlo," "Bavra-Ninotsminda," "Gogavan-Guguti," and "Privolnoye-Akhrebi."
