We Should Not Have Lost This War Like This: Robert Kocharyan
We should not have lost this war like this. In fact, we should not have lost this war at all. This was stated by the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, during a meeting with his supporters.
According to him, by the 3rd or 4th day of the war, he already noticed that we had serious problems. “The issue is that the state did not fully take on the management of this war. That is the biggest problem. No army can sustain a war for more than a week. When wars of such scale begin, as a rule, the army withstands for 5 to 7 days according to calculations. During this time, the army must be replenished. The biggest problem was that the army absorbed the first major blow, but to continue, certain processes must be carried out: the work of the state, the work of the rear, army replenishment, general mobilization, and proper management of the MOH resources... But none of this simply took place. That is why in the first 4-5 days our situation was not so bad. We only had minor losses in the south and the north. In the south, the front was breached by about 3-4 km across a stretch of 14 km, and in the north, the enemy advanced about 5 km over a stretch. After that, the state should have entered the game with all its strength, but it did not, and that is where the retreat began. I am disappointed with this entire process and have many unanswered questions about why this happened. I believe we will get those answers after June 21,” emphasized the second President of Armenia.
Kocharyan noted that it is necessary to understand what is behind the statement of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, as he realized while reading it that everyone has a lot to say. Furthermore, he highlighted that in his impression, there has been a planned defeat. “We need to understand what the motivation was, who the planner was, and who implemented that planned defeat,” noted the second President of Armenia.
