Video: 30-Year-Old Griboyedov Resident Steals Gold Chain from Woman's Neck in Yerevan and is Caught

On April 23, during daylight hours, a woman had a gold chain—a gold ornament with a cross and some jewelry—stolen from her neck in a park adjacent to Gevorg Kochari Street, and the perpetrator fled the scene. Five hours after the incident, the victim reported the theft to the Central Police Department. The law enforcement officers conducted operational inquiries in the park. However, nobody had seen anything, and those who had seen it were long gone from the park.

From discussions with the victim, investigators had a rough idea of the suspect's appearance. Through collaboration between the Central Police Department and the Vagharsapat police, information was obtained indicating that the robbery may have been committed by a 30-year-old resident of the village of Griboyedov in the Ararat region.

On April 28, he was apprehended by the Central Police Department and provided a confession. The investigation is ongoing.
