This is a Provocation Against Armenian-Indian Friendship: Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia condemned the vandalism and burning of the pedestal of the Mahatma Gandhi monument in Yerevan.

“We strongly condemn the breaking and burning of the pedestal of the Mahatma Gandhi monument, a symbol of India's independence and statehood, a champion of peace and humanism. This is a provocation aimed at the centuries-old and dynamically developing Armenian-Indian friendship since independence. The issue of monument preservation is a duty for all of us, and any such act of vandalism and desecration is an affront to universal values, and those responsible should be held accountable under the law,” the Ministry stated in its announcement.
