Court Accepts Artzvik Minasian's Appeal: Criminal Proceedings to be Initiated Against MP and Chief of Police
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by Judge Arman Hovhannisyan, accepted on April 29 an appeal from Artzvik Minasian, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation's Supreme Body, concerning the disproportionate actions of police during a protest near the National Assembly on December 28, 2020.
The court ruled to initiate criminal proceedings against MP Sisak Gabrielyan of the 'My Step' faction and the Chief of the Police Forces for the use of force against citizens during the rally. It is important to note that clashes occurred between the protesters and MP Gabrielyan during the demonstration in front of the parliament.
