Russia Still Hasn't Given Official Approval for Putin-Biden Meeting, Peskov Says

Russia continues to consider U.S. President Joe Biden's proposal to hold a summit with Vladimir Putin. This was announced by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president.

“There has been no official response. We are still examining this proposal and analyzing the situation. This requires in-depth analysis, as every time our partners in Washington speak of a summit, they accompany their statements with expressions such as ‘Russia will pay a certain price and the inevitability of new sanctions’,” Peskov said.

The Kremlin spokesperson also noted that there should not be hypothetical variants that the summit may not take place; instead, there should be a concrete answer. Therefore, thorough analysis is necessary.
