You Forgot That the Annihilation of Armenians Would Mean the Collapse of All Turkey: Group of Turkish Dissidents

The "Dayanışma" (Solidarity) group from Bogaziçi University in Istanbul made a statement on Twitter regarding the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, which has raised significant uproar among Turkish users, reports ermenihaber.am.

The group quoted a segment from the words of Armenian national liberation movement figure, writer Paramaz: "Paramaz of the Hunchakian party (Matteos Sargsyan), who was hanged in May 1915 under the pretext of attempting to assassinate the leaders of the Union and Progress party, said during his self-defense speech in court: 'What is left that we have not done for the well-being of this country? We have made many sacrifices to ensure the brotherhood of Armenians and Turks. How much energy we have expended, how much blood we have shed. You not only ignored our efforts, but you have deliberately tried to annihilate us.'"

The group then addressed the authorities and society of Turkey, stating: "You have forgotten that the annihilation of Armenians would mean the collapse of all Turkey. On the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in 1915, we share the pain of the Armenian people."
