Rocket Fire in Afghanistan Claims 12 Lives
Rocket fire and air strikes have resulted in the deaths of 12 individuals, with several others injured in the Afghan Wardak province. This was reported by TOLOnews, citing local authorities' statements.
“As a result of air strikes in the Zorlang village of the Jaghato district, at least eight members of one family were killed. In another incident in the Sayyid Abad district, four members of the same family were killed, and three others wounded by a landmine blast,” said Sharifullah Hotak, a member of the Wardak provincial council.
Following these incidents, President Hamid Karzai issued a statement urging parties in the conflict to cease violence. At the same time, the news outlet reported that acts of brutality in Afghanistan have become more frequent since the United States announced its troop withdrawal from the country.
