Azerbaijani Occupiers Destroy Statues of Angels and Cross at Saint Ghazanchetsots

Recent images shared on the Twitter account of 'Republic of Artsakh' show that Azerbaijani forces occupying Shushi have destroyed the statues of angels placed on the columns of the gates of the Saint Ghazanchetsots Church, as well as the cross at the gate.

'Azerbaijani occupiers have destroyed the statues of angels located on the gates of the Ghazanchetsots Armenian Church in Shushi. A video posted on social media reveals that the Azerbaijani occupiers have not only demolished the angel statues but also devastated the surrounding area of the temple,' reads the text accompanying the photos.

It should be noted that reports are circulating regarding Azerbaijani attempts to illegally 'restore' certain Armenian churches as part of Albanian heritage.
