A Group of People Will Likely Die: Musk on the Mars Mission
Elon Musk, the head of American company SpaceX, has admitted that "a group of people will likely die" during the mission to Mars. This statement was made during an interview with Peter Diamandis, founder of the X Prize Foundation, and was reported by Fox Business.
Musk noted that during the mission, "you could die, it will be uncomfortable, and there will probably not be good food." He believes that the invitation for a flight to Mars should indicate that "a difficult and dangerous journey is expected, after which you may not return alive."
Musk is confident that the first people on Mars should be volunteers, as they will be embarking on a "fantastic adventure." "It’s not for everyone," he emphasized.
In December, Musk predicted that his company would send humans to Mars by 2026.
