Recognition of the Armenian Genocide is a bold and inspiring step, stated Armenian President Armen Sarkissian.

“This is important for the Armenian people and for all those around the world who seek justice. It opens new horizons for Armenian-American relations. As a result, the world becomes a better place. The process of international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide will contribute to the prevention of genocide as a crime against humanity and the eradication of impunity worldwide,” the President's statement said.
