Gunfire Exists, but It Is Not Targeted: Proof That We Haven't Had Enemy Fire for Four Months, Says Defense Minister

We are doing everything we can to ensure that Azerbaijan's statements do not become a reality. This was stated by Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan during a speech at the Tsitsernakaberd memorial on April 24, the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, in a conversation with NEWS.am.

“Today, both the borders of Armenia and Artsakh are fortified, and everything is being done to ensure military security. The Ministry of Defense issues daily statements about the situation at the borders,” the minister noted.

According to the minister, there have been gunshots in Syunik, but they are not targeted. “The vivid proof is that we have not had any casualties from enemy fire in the past four months,” he added.

When asked if our army is ready for possible military operations, the minister responded: “Yes.”
