Catholicos Did Not Answer the Question of Why He Did Not Visit Tsitsernakaberd with the Prime Minister

Today, early in the morning, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, President Armen Sarkissian, and Speaker of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex. Later, His Holiness Catholicos Garegin II visited the memorial.

When asked why the Catholicos did not come with the state officials, the Pontiff refused to answer. “There will be no comments today; everything has been said in the address of the Pontiff,” said Father Vahran Melikyan, head of the information system of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, to reporters at the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex.

Reporters specifically inquired why the Catholicos did not arrive at the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex with state officials, and whether he still demands the Prime Minister's resignation. These questions went unanswered.
