Sputnik Light Vaccine Could Be Registered in May
The Sputnik Light vaccine may be registered in May, possibly even earlier. It is planned to produce more than 30 million doses per month by the end of the year. This was stated by the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, during a conversation with journalists, as reported by TASS.
Previously, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that once all necessary procedures are completed, this vaccine will be included in the vaccination program. According to Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, the Sputnik Light vaccine could later be used for revaccination.
It is worth noting that on March 29, the Gamaleya Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology applied for the registration of the Sputnik Light vaccine. This is a simplified version of Sputnik V, consisting of only one component and requiring just one vaccination instead of two. The vaccine's testing phase began in Moscow on February 27, 2021.
