In an interview yesterday on Public TV, the former Secretary of the National Security Council of Artsakh, Samvel Babayan, confirms that former Chief of the General Staff Onik Gasparyan informed Nikol Pashinyan that they did not have sufficient resources to stop the enemy. Political scientist Robert Margaryan wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“A remarkable part of Samvel Babayan's interview that went unnoticed: He indirectly confirms that between October 5 and 6, Chief of the General Staff Onik Gasparyan indeed informed Nikol Pashinyan that they did not have enough resources to stop the enemy in at least three directions,” he wrote.

Babayan specifically noted: “On the 5th and 6th, when one flank of the adversary is already at the mouth of Jabrail, the other flank has taken the villages of Hadrut, and a third flank is heading towards Khudaferin. Pashinyan contacts Onik Gasparyan. They talk, I intervene and say, if you can organize defense in that area and stop the adversary, we can also opt out. But if that’s not possible, then our only option is to take that step. The person says it’s not possible, we don’t have the resources to stop them in three directions.”
